RIGHT STUF, Inc. Acquires PRINCESS KNIGHT

Nozomi Ent. to release classic anime as limited-edition DVD sets in 2013.

GRIMES, Iowa, Oct. 24, 2012 – Anime producer and distributor Right Stuf, Inc. is pleased to announce its
acquisition of the classic Princess Knight animated series.
Also known as “Choppy and the Princess,” the Princess Knight television series will be released via Right Stuf’s Nozomi Entertainment as two limited-edition DVD sets. This will be the first time the series will be available to North American audiences on licensed DVD. The DVD sets will feature its original Englishlanguage dub, as well as a Spanish-language audio option.
Due to the availability of materials, these DVD releases will utilize the edited and cut, broadcast video footage from Princess Knight’s television syndication during the 1960s and 1970s. (Japanese audio will not be included on these sets because it cannot be synched to the video.)
Princess Knight follows the heroic adventures of Sapphire, a young princess born with the hearts of both a boy and a girl and who is also being secretly raised as a prince so she can eventually succeed her father as king.
The 52-episode anime adaptation of Princess Knight is based upon the best-selling comic (manga) by legendary creator Osamu Tezuka (Astro Boy, Kimba The White Lion) and features animation from Tezuka’s own Mushi Productions. It originally aired on Japanese television from 1967 through 1968, and its English-language adaptation was syndicated throughout the United States in the 1970s and 1980s.
In both anime and manga forms, Princess Knight was among the first titles geared specifically toward a young female (shoujo) audience. The original comic was serialized in Kodansha’s Shoujo Club anthology magazine, from 1953 through 1956, and its sequel series, Twin Knight, was serialized in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi anthology in 1958.
The two collected volumes of the Princess Knight manga are currently available to North American readers from Vertical Inc., which also plans to publish the sequel series in 2013.

Also known as “Berusaiyu no Bara” and “Lady Oscar,” The Rose of Versailles will be released via Right Stuf’s Nozomi Entertainment as two limited-edition DVD box sets in 2013. Sailor Moon Manga Gets New Anime Series in Summer 2013















The idol group Momoiro Clover Z, publisher Kodansha, and creator Naoko Takeuchi announced on Friday that a new anime adaptation of Takeuchi's Sailor Moon manga is being produced. The new anime series is aimed for release next summer, and Momoiro Clover Z will perform a theme song.

Momoiro Clover Z made the announcement during a live event celebrating the 20th anniversary of the manga. Momoiro Clover Z sang the first Sailor Moon anime's theme song "Moonlight Densetsu" at the event via a live video feed from France, where they are guests of Japan Expo.

Update: More background information added. Although Kotono Mitsuishi and Tohru Furuya, the voices of Sailor Moon/Usagi Tsukino and Tuxedo Mask/Mamoru Chiba in the first Sailor Moon anime, were present at the live event, the event did not specify that they will reprise their roles in the new series. The event also did not specify which song Momoiro Clover Z will perform as a theme song of the new anime.
Kodansha editor Fumio Osano confirmed that the new anime project is not a film project. Osano also emphasized that no details have been set for a hypothetical broadcast. However, the staff intends to release the new anime worldwide simultaneously. During the event, Mitsuishi mused aloud if she will appear in the new anime. The Amazing Spider Man/ O Incrível Homem-Aranha Review (Português/English)









Hoje, cinco anos depois de ver o terrível debilóide emo Aranha de Tobey Maguire, posso dizer que vi realmente o Homem-Aranha dos quadrinhos nas telonas. Diferente de Sam Raimi, Marc Webb não teve pressa em desenvolver o herói Homem-Aranha, dando nesse primeiro filme um destaque ao adolescente Peter Parker, tal qual Nolan fez em Batman Begins, e suas importantes relações para desenvolvimento e formação do herói que conhecemos da HQ com o Capitão Stacy e sua filha Gwen Stacy. Gostei do estilo sombrio da fotografia do filme e de ter misturado finalmente na sua personalidade quando é picado pela aranha, a crueldade da aranha, que "brinca" com suas "vítimas" ao prendê-las na aranha. A relação de Tio Ben e Peter é muito mais desenvolvida nessa versão de Webb do que na Raimi. Gostei da inserção do trauma de Peter em relação ao abandono e sumiço dos seus pais e a relação disso com a transformação do Homem-Aranha, com o Lagarto e com Norman Osborn. O humor surgiu de forma mais refinada, em situações beirando sarcasmo e ironia. Os planos em primeira pessoa, visão subjetiva de Peter, em seus passeios pelos prédios com as teias, deram ao filme, principalmente no formato 3D, ótimos enquadramentos e uma aproximação do público, uma imersão maior na diegese da película de Webb. Gostei da teia artificial, igual aos quadrinhos. O Lagarto ter sido o único vilão foi ótimo, abrindo espaço para um melhor desenvolvimento de Norman Osborn/Duende Verde no segundo filme. A aparição do Incrível Stan Lee foi genial. A cena de Stan Lee foi a melhor de suas aparições em filmes de Marvel. Li em críticas, achando ruim que o filme foca no relacionamento adolescente entre Peter e Gwen Stacy e não no herói, o que discordo, pois, é esse relacionamento, que vai virar trágico talvez no segundo filme, é crucial para a formação do Homem-Aranha. Quanto a ser semelhante com o primeiro de Sam Raimi, chega a ser ridículo, pois, o conceito de personagens é totalmente diferente. Da mesma forma, que a relação de Peter Parker com Gwen Stacy difere totalmente da dele com Mary Jane. O filme tem clichês sim. E daí? O que há de mal em usá-los quando bem utilizados? Estava com um pé atrás nesse reboot do Homem-Aranha, mas, Webb foi feliz em criar um Homem-Aranha, mais fiel ao dos quadrinhos, com uma atuação fantástica de Andrew Garfield, um herói mais real, com seus traumas e angústias. Finalmente, temos um Peter Parker que não é emo e muito menos debilóide. É um Peter Parker mais envolvido com suas emoções interiores e suas relações pessoais, que ajudaram a formar o Incrível Homem-Aranha.

Today, five years after I saw the terrible emo moron spider of Tobey Maguire, I can truly say that I saw the Spider-Man from comics on the big screen. Unlike Sam Raimi, Marc Webb was in no hurry to develop the hero Spider-Man, this first film giving an emphasis on teen Peter Parker, like Nolan did in Batman Begins, and their relationships to important training and development of the hero we know of HQ with Captain Stacy and her daughter Gwen Stacy. I liked the darker style of photography of the film, and have finally mixed in his personality when he is bitten by a spider, the cruelty of the spider, which "plays" with his "victims" to hold them in the spider. The humor came more refined, in situations bordering on sarcasm and irony. The relationship of Uncle Ben and Peter is much more developed in this version of Webb than in Raimi version. I liked the inclusion of the trauma of Peter by abandonment and disappearance of their parents and compared it with the transformation of Spider-Man, the Lizard and Norman Osborn. The plans in first person, subjective view of Peter, in his walks through the buildings with the webs, gave to the film, especially in 3D format, great shots and an approach to the public, a greater immersion in the film diegesis of Webb. I liked the artificial web, like the comics. The Lizard has been the only villain was great, making place for better development of Norman Osborn / Green Goblin in the second film. The appearance of the Incredible Stan Lee was brilliant. The scene of Stan Lee was the best of his appearances in Marvel movies. I read in critical articles, thinking bad that the film focuses on teen relationship between Peter and Gwen Stacy and not the hero. I disagree, because this relationship that will turn tragic perhaps in the second film, is crucial for the formation of Spider-Man. To be similar with the first film of Sam Raimi, comes to be ridiculous, because the concept of characters between Raimi and Webb is totally different. Likewise, the relationship with Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy is entirely different from him with Mary Jane. The movie is so cliche. So what? What's wrong with using cliche when properly used? I was thinking bad of this reboot of Spider-Man, but Webb was happy to create a Spider-Man, more faithful to the comic, with a fantastic performance from Andrew Garfield, a hero more realistic with their trauma and distress. Finally, we have a Peter Parker who is not emo, much less moronic. Peter Parker is a more involved with their inner emotions and personal relationships, which helped form the Amazing Spiderman.

Ai Nonaka to Appear at Otakon 2012







Baltimore, MD (June 25, 2012) – Voice Actor, singer, and radio DJ Ai Nonaka to appear Otakon 2012.

Ai Nonaka is a veteran voice actor in Japan. Her lively yet emotional voice has charmed fans across the globe. Ai Nonaka has an extensive list of voice acting roles ranging from Anime to Video Games. One of her most notable roles includes being Kyoko Sakura of the hit anime series Puella Magi Madoka Magica. She also performed as Fuko Ibuki of CLANNAD, Yukari Sakuragi in Another, Konoka Konoe in Mahou Sensei Negima!, Maya Kihara in Toradora! just to name a few. In addition to her voice acting, Nonaka sings many anime songs as well as works as a radio DJ.

Arina Tanemura

Arina Tanemura was born 1978 in Aichi Prefecture, Japan.

Ms. Tanemura debuted in 1996 in Shueisha’s Ribon Original June edition. Her debut piece was titled Nibanme no Koi no Katachi, often translated as The Style of the Second Love.

Some of her more popular works include Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne and Full Moon O Sagashite. These two works have also been adapted into TV Anime Series in Japan that have been broadcast and licensed in numerous countries throughout the world. Another popular work released in the US by VIZ is The Gentlemen’s Alliance Cross.

All of Ms. Tanemura’s works are created entirely by hand (she does not use digital tools), enhancing her unique vision and expression. This has helped establish her as a widely recognized authority on hand colored illustrations.

Currently Ms. Tanemura is working on the serialized Sakura Hime in Shueisha’s Ribon magazine, as well as an Essay Manga entitled Arina no Tane for Shueisha’s Cobalt magazine.

 Ms. Tanamura has also been involved in a variety of other creative fields, including fulfilling the role of a Radio Personality and singing the tracks on an Image Album. Please continue to support her as she explores additional creative avenues.

Ms. Tanemura has 2 pet cats, loves Anime songs, and has a very outgoing sociable personality.
