"Hunter x Hunter" Heading into Phantom Troupe Arc, New Cast Members Announced
This summer the current incarnation of Hunter x Hunter anime breaks through into the next arc of the series, and it's a highly anticipated one: the Phantom Troupe arc. Expect to see a whole lot of character development and many serious scenes, especially for Kurapika, as he's out for revenge.
Here are the members of the Troupe and their voices (where announced):
Chrollo Lucilfer, the leader of the Phantom Troupe, is played by Mamoru Miyano (Zange Natsume from Inu X Boku SS, Taichi Mashima from Chihayafuru).

X JAPAN Wins The "Best International Band" Award At The Golden Gods Awards
2012 - X Japan took home the award for Best International Band Wednesday night at the Golden Gods Awards, after becoming the first Asian band to ever be nominated for a Golden Gods Award.
The band beat out internationally acclaimed Rammstein (Germany), Lacuna Coil (Italy), Sepultura (Brazil), Behemoth (Poland), and Meshuggah (Sweden).
"Thank you Revolver. Thank you so much for recognizing us," said Yoshiki, leader of X Japan, who was present at the ceremony to accept the award.
“Some people might have heard of us, we're from Japan. Well, our band name is X Japan. We toured North America in 2010, and did our first world tour last year. Now we are finishing our first worldwide debut album. And we are planning on doing another world tour soon. This new, value-priced DVD set will offer the first 12 episodes of Rental Magica in both “broadcast order,” as seen on Japanese television (and the Japanese DVD release), and “chronological order,” according to the timeline presented in the novels that served as the series' inspiration. It will be housed in a single DVD keepcase.

A supernatural action-adventure, Rental Magica is set in a world where magical organizations – staffed by specialists wielding both Eastern and Western disciplines – vie for work, prestige and power.
Written by Makoto Sanda and illustrated by pako, the Rental Magica novel series currently spans more than 21 volumes and was named “Best Action Story” by Japanese fans as part of the 2007 Light Novel Awards. It debuted in 2004, and it was serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's magazine The Sneaker, alongside the novels that inspired The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Trinity Blood anime series. Manga interpretations of Rental Magica also appeared in the shoujo (girls') anthology Asuka and the shounen (boys') anthology Comp Ace.
Rental Magica's anime adaptation features direction by Itsuro Kawasaki (Sengoku Basara, The Legend of the Legendary Heroes), series composition by Mamiko Ikeda (Emma: A Victorian Romance, Maid Sama!), animation character design by Minako Shiba (Black Butler, .hack//SIGN), and animation production by ZEXCS (Our Home's Fox Diety, Chrome Shelled Regios).

Perhaps it's not so surprising then, that among Seikyou's many school clubs is one for students interested in “paranormal investigations.” What might raise more than a few hairs, however, is that the founder of the club is the ghost herself. Unable to remember how she died and trapped in the grey land between life and death, Yūko latches onto Teiichi Niiya, a freshman who can inexplicably see her, and together they and the other unsuspecting members of the club begin to unravel the many dark mysteries that surround Seikyou. Will unlocking the secret of Yūko's gruesome death finally free her? Or will her sudden close association with a mortal have even stranger repercussions on both of their existences? Hidetaka Tenjin Appearing at Otakon 2012
Baltimore, MD – We are proud to announce that illustrator Hidetaka Tenjin is coming to Otakon 2012!
With no formal art training, Tenjin has staked his claim as one of the premier illustrators in Japan, having drafted mechanical art for the Macross, Gundam, and Space Battleship Yamato franchises. This artwork includes model box covers, DVD covers, art books, and mechanical designs for some of the later shows.
Tenjin began drawing Macross' signature fighter, the VF-1 Valkyrie, while he was still in college for a personal fansite. His love extended to doing pinups for the “Macross Chronicle”, a weekly fan publication, which eventually led to doing work for another fan publication, the “Space Battleship Yamato Fact File.” Since then, Tenjin has illustrated the box art for several Gundam Master Grade model kits for Bandai and the cover for the PlayStation 2 game Gradius V.
Tenjin's earlier works also led to him to become the main visual artist or special effects artist for numerous animé including Macross Zero, Macross Frontier, Hellsing Ultimate, Gundam Evolve, the Saint Seiya movie, and Genesis of Aquarion. This year, Tenjin can be found as the cover artist of the Japanese version of Sony's Starhawk and as the mecha artist of the TV series, DVD/ BD packaging covers and promotional artwork for Aquarion Evol.

Eureka 7: AO (Astral Ocean) –
The story is set on Okinawa's isolated island of Iwado, which has seen a growing movement advocating a return to an autonomous government. Ao Fukai, a 13-year- old boy with a missing father, lives on the island with an old doctor named Toshio and is about to enter middle school. Ao's mother was taken away a decade ago by unknown individuals. Naru Arata, Ao's 13-year-old childhood friend and the story's heroine, lives with her father, older sister, and grandmother. She has a "Yuta" power awakened within her due to an incident when she was young. A mysterious entity called "Secret" suddenly appears and launches an attack on the Scub Coral lifeform on the island. Ao launches a certain military FP called "Nirvash" aboard a Japanese military transport in his fervent desire to protect the island.

ARRIETTY is the story of the Clock family – the youngest of which is 14-year-old Arrietty – a race of ‘little people’ living beneath the floorboards of a sprawling mansion, hidden in a luscious garden in the suburbs of Tokyo. ARRIETTY is the story of the Clock family – the youngest of which is 14-year-old Arrietty – a race of ‘little people’ living beneath the floorboards of a sprawling mansion, hidden in a luscious garden in the suburbs of Tokyo. Everything they have, they borrow - or make from the things they have borrowed – but in order to survive in anonymity, they must do so sparingly and carefully, choosing only discrete items that will never be noticed.
One fateful day, their peaceful existence is interrupted by the arrival of Sho, a poorly young boy who has moved into the mansion while he waits for urgent medical treatment. The adventurous Arrietty is intrigued by him, and despite her parents' warnings about the dangers of being seen by big people, she accidentally allows herself to be discovered by Sho. Before long, the two begin to confide in each other and a friendship begins to blossom.

Sentai Filmworks Licenses "Upotte!"
HOUSTON, May 02, 2012 — Forget about girls WITH guns, Sentai Filmworks is pleased to announce their acquisition of Upotte!!, the show that's all about girls who ARE guns! Upotte!! features the scripts by Naruhisa Arakawa (Listen To Me, Girls! I am Your Father, Blue Seed), direction by Takao Kato (To Love Ru, Pandora Hearts) and character designs by Akio Takami (Buso Renkin, Steam Detectives).
Kiss kiss, bang bang! The arms race takes on a startling new development when the arms come with heads, legs and very feminine bodies attached! Yes, at Seishou Academy every girl is literally a lethal weapon, and they're all gunning for the top shot at getting their own personal serviceman! Needless to say, it's going to be difficult for newly recruited human instructor Genkoku to adjust to working with a living arsenal of high caliber cuties with tricky names like FNC (Funko,) M 16A4 (Ichiroku,) L85A1 (Eru,) and SG 550 (Shigu,). Especially since many have hair triggers and there's no bulletproof vest that can stop a really determined coed! He'll have to rewrite the operator's manual on student/teacher relationships, and pray that his job description won't include having to field strip and reassemble one of his cadets in the dark. But unfortunately (for him,) FNC's already thinking about becoming HIS personal weapon, and she usually gets what she aims for! Get ready for explosive situations, amour piercing rounds, cheap shots galore and one VERY shell-shocked homeroom instructor in UPOTTE!
